
Phil is a senior architecture, data and technology leader with 25+ years’ experience helping organisations turn complex strategy into real, measurable outcomes across financial services, regulation and large-scale digital transformation.
He has played leading roles in major UK initiatives, including serving as Chief Architect for the UK’s Open Banking programme at the Open Banking Implementation Entity. Phil had an instrumental role helping shape the operating model, standards, governance and technology ecosystem that enabled Open Banking to launch at national scale.
Phil has advised organisations including Nationwide, Lloyds, Barclays, Aviva, RBS, Quintet, Quilter, NFUM, Mars and UK Government entities. His work spans data platforms, cyber security, cloud and core banking migrations, Customer 360, data mesh, cybersecurity and regulatory transformation, often as a trusted advisor to CDOs, CTOs and CIOs.
He has also set up and led group-wide practices of excellence across business analysis, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity and data, driving consistent delivery and high performance at organisational scale.
Phil is an active member of the Iasa Global Association and a leading voice in its UK Chief Architect Forum, championing professional standards for Business Technology Architecture.
Phil is currently Managing Principal at Ortecha, where his work focusses on supporting clients with Complex solution strategy, architecture and delivery.
