Vishal Gupta

Vishal Gupta is senior vice president and chief information and technology officer for Lexmark International. He leads global information technology, software development, data science and corporate strategy in a unified Connected Technology team responsible for making connections — between customers, employees, products and strategy. His organisation ensures alignment from strategic direction through software offer delivery, focusing on leveraging emerging technologies such as cloud, IoT, AI and data analytics to deliver outstanding customer outcomes.

Gupta joined Lexmark as CITO in February 2021, bringing extensive technology leadership experience. Prior to joining Lexmark, Gupta was global chief technology officer and senior vice president of Products and Platforms for Unisys Corporation, where he led a team of more than 1,500 engineers and drove innovation through emerging technologies including cloud and AI. Gupta has also held senior technology leadership roles with Symantec Corporation, Silent Circle LLC, and Cisco Systems.

Gupta holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science in Pilani, India, a master’s degree in computer engineering from Dartmouth College, and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania where he was recognised as a Palmer Scholar. Gupta is a member of the Forbes Technology council, Wall Street Journal CIO council, and founding board member of WashingtonExec CTO council. He is a frequent technology conference speaker.
