Shane McDaniel

Shane “El Jefe” McDaniel is the Director of IT for the City of Seguin with 26 years of experience across a litany of IT disciplines. His technology career began in 1996 through an enlistment in the Air Force supporting military intelligence and reconnaissance. He spent the first 15 years of his career in federal IT operations before transitioning to the private industry global cybersecurity community. For the past 6 years Shane has been working in Texas municipal government, as a native Texan he takes great pride in serving fellow Texans through local government technology advancement.

Shane is a published author with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Information Technology. He holds CGCIO, PMP, CISM, ITIL Intermediate, and CompTIA Security+ certifications. Shane is a champion of Country IT, which he defines as a results driven approach to delivering enterprise technology solutions attained via the power of an individual’s spirit and often through nontraditional means. His teams have received numerous awards for their approach to delivering Information Technology services and solutions in municipal government.
