
Selim Aissi has over two decades of experience shaping security and innovation strategies for some of the world’s most respected technology and financial institutions. He currently advises corporate boards, venture capital firms, and Fortune 500 organizations on cybersecurity governance, digital resilience, and emerging threat landscapes.
As the Founder and CEO of Arbor Global Advisors, Selim leads a consulting firm supporting organizations across financial services, technology, and venture capital sectors. The firm specializes in delivering strategic guidance on risk management, regulatory compliance, and security transformation.
Selim previously served in executive roles as EVP at HealthEquity, VP, CSO & CIO at Blackhawk Network, and SVP & CSO at Ellie Mae, where he led enterprise-wide cybersecurity, risk, and technology initiatives. Earlier, he was VP of Information Security at Visa Inc., and held security leadership roles at Intel Corporation. He began his career as an engineering leader and embedded systems architect at General Dynamics, General Motors, and Applied Dynamics International, contributing to mission-critical systems for the defense and automotive industries.
Selim holds BSE, MSE, and PhD degrees in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He also completed executive programs at Harvard Business School, UCLA Anderson, and UC Berkeley Haas focused on corporate governance, cybersecurity risk, and leadership.
A trusted boardroom advisor, Selim has served on the boards of Applied Dynamics International, Red Access, and the National Technology Security Coalition (NTSC), where he chaired the Board Development Committee. He also promoted industry collaboration through roles such as Co-Chair of the Cybersecurity Collaboration Forum and Chairman of the Mortgage Risk Committee for the FS-ISAC. He also advises multiple high-growth cybersecurity startups, including several with successful exits.
Named on over 100 U.S. and international patents in cybersecurity and advanced computing, Selim is also the author of Security for Mobile Networks and Platforms. He frequently contributes to public-private cybersecurity initiatives and has served on government task forces including the California Cybersecurity Task Force and the State Technology Advisory Council.
