NACD
Rona Bunn is the Chief Information Officer for NACD where she facilitates digital orchestration, leading information technology, data strategy and digital experience. She plays a key role in the transformation of products and services that drive increased value to members, employees, and partners. Before joining NACD in 2021, Ms. Bunn served as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Deputy CIO at the U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration (ITA).
Earlier in her career, Ms. Bunn held a diverse set of leadership roles. She served as a Senior IT Director in the U.S. Department of Justice. She also served as President and CEO at SkyeTech Solutions, a business and IT services company. For 13 years, at BAE Systems, she rose through various roles to serve as Senior Principal in Business Operations driving Sector-wide multimillion-dollar cost efficiencies. As a Certified Public Accountant, Rona held several business roles in the private sector.
Ms. Bunn is a speaker, author, and evangelist of topics on Digital Transformation, Leadership, and advancement of STEM. Over the past three decades, she has held a variety of roles in governance and the advancement of organizational goals, serving on the executive boards of Unity Fellowship Church, Washington, DC, and National Society of Black Engineers – AEDC. She has also held various chapter and committee leadership roles in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She served on the Advisory Boards for Advanced Technology Academic Research Center and CapitalCIO. She is a two-time Technology All-star awardee and Career Achievement award recipient from Women of Color in STEM as well as an ORBIE award finalist. She holds a B.S. in Accounting from State University of New York at Old Westbury, a M.S. in Computer Science from Bowie State University and an M.B.A. from New York University, Stern School of Business.
