Robbie Vickers

CIO Technical College System of Georgia

In his current role as Chief Information Officer, Robbie Vickers brings 30 years of IT leadership and management experience to the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG). He joined the TCSG system office in 2018.  During his first year at TCSG, he implemented the first Managed Services division, which utilizes a shared services model to manage the student information systems at 18 of the 22 technical colleges.  Today He leads a talented team of professionals in support of TCSG’s technical education, adult education, economic development, and workforce divisions across the 88 campuses of Georgia’s 22 technical colleges.  Vickers was the 2024 Government/Education/Non-profit (“Public Servant”) Tech Leader of the Year.

Prior to joining TCSG, Vickers spent 23 years at Lanier Technical College.  In his last position at Lanier Technical College, he served as the Vice President of Technology, overseeing all technology operations at the college. During his tenure, he led the technological efforts for the largest single project in the history of TCSG – opening four additional campuses and relocating the main campus.

Vickers holds an M.S. in Organizational Leadership from Brenau University, a B.S. in Technology from University of West Alabama, an A.A.S. in Accounting from Gwinnett Technical College, and is a proud graduate of TCSG’s Executive Leadership Academy.

Beyond his service to the State of Georgia, Vickers is very active in the community, currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), a member of Georgia CIO, and as a volunteer for various non-profit and educational organizations. He enjoys camping with his family, golfing, fishing, and pretty much anything outdoors.
