Rey Bouknight

Described by others as a dynamic and forward-thinking leader, Rey has a 15-year track record of helping major business, government and nonprofit agencies redefine how they communicate with key audiences.

Before joining Firstup in 2020, he held senior leadership roles for large organizations, including MGM Resorts International, a global entertainment brand with 55,000 employees, and Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, the State of Michigan’s largest agency. At both organizations, he led teams responsible for several communications functions, including media and public relations, crisis management, marketing, social media, internal communications, and internal brand strategy.

With experience that spans across multiple industries, Rey has done everything from leading Michigan’s integrated communications response against COVID-19 to launching the workforce communications platform powering MGM’s digital employee experience.
