Optimizing Ambient Voice Technology with GenAI to Improve Physician Efficiency and Patient Wellness

This innovative project leveraged several different types of artificial intelligence to reach the common goal of improving documentation efficiency. Voice recognition and voice commands which use natural language understanding, a form of AI, and adaptive learning were used to help improve documentation quality and reduce documentation time. Ambient voice technology with generative AI, which removes the need for the clinician to document the elements of the clinical encounter, by recording, capturing, and generating a draft note for the clinician to review, edit, and co-sign, will be tested in an upcoming pilot.
