Mike Pitman is an accomplished global cybersecurity leader with over two decades of experience shaping and securing the digital strategies of some of the world’s most prominent organisations. As Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at BSI, Mike leads the Information Security, Privacy, IT Continuity & Network Operations across 31 countries, protecting 6,500 employees and managing a distributed team spanning EMEA, APAC, and the Americas.

With a proven ability to build and scale security functions from greenfield to maturity, Mike has successfully delivered multi-million-pound security transformation programs and driven enterprise-wide ISO 27001 & Cyber Essentials certifications. His career spans leadership roles at global firms including British American Tobacco, dunnhumby (Tesco Group), John Lewis Partnership, Adecco Group, Rentokil-Initial, and Capita, where he has consistently built high-performing teams and aligned cybersecurity with business growth and resilience.

Mike’s deep expertise includes information risk management, incident response, regulatory compliance, business continuity, and third-party risk assurance. A CISSP and ITIL-certified professional, he regularly contributes thought leadership at international cybersecurity forums. He currently serves on advisory boards for InfoSec Europe and the UK&I CISO Alliances.
