Mike Bechtel

Mike is an inventor, professor, and futurist. As a Managing Director & Chief Futurist at Deloitte, Mike and his team research, make sense of, and help clients prepare to make use of, novel and exponential technologies 3+ years from widespread business impact. Mike also helps Deloitte and its clients engage the startup community, creating profitable partnerships between established enterprises and emerging entrepreneurs.

Mike comes to Deloitte from Ringleader Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm he co-founded in 2013. Before Ringleader, Mike served as CTO/CIO of The Ounce of Prevention Fund, a national not-for-profit focused on early childhood education for at-risk youth. He started his career at Accenture, where his 12 patents as an inventor led to his being named the firm’s first “Global Innovation Director”.

He is a graduate of and currently professor of corporate innovation at the University of Notre Dame.
