Michelle Kearns

Michelle Kearns is Head of IT at Boots Ireland, where she leads the technology strategy and delivery of enterprise IT, digital platforms, retail systems, and online operations across one of Ireland’s largest pharmacy and health-and-beauty retailers. She is responsible for ensuring the technology foundations that support a seamless customer and colleague experience while driving modernization, operational resilience, and digital innovation across the business.

Before joining Boots Ireland in 2021, Michelle spent nearly 17 years at Caredoc, a major Irish healthcare provider, including four years as Chief Information Officer. During her tenure, she led large-scale digital transformation initiatives focused on improving patient care through data-driven decision-making, system integration, and cross-sector collaboration.

Michelle is widely recognized as a leader in health informatics and digital transformation. She was a founding member of Ireland’s Council of Clinical Information Officers, served as an adviser to the World Health Organization, and founded One HealthTech Ireland, a community promoting diversity, inclusion, and innovation in health technology. She has been a regular recipient of CIO 100 recognition and was named Ireland’s CIO of the Year in 2025 for her leadership in driving digital transformation at Boots Ireland.
