Vice President, IT & CIO BC Transit

Laura-Lea Berna is the Vice President, Information Technology, and Chief Information Officer at BC Transit. Laura-Lea was previously the Director of Information Services & Technology and Chief Information Officer. Laura-Lea joined BC Transit after working as the Chief Information Officer for Camosun College. Prior to joining Camosun, Laura-Lea was the VP of Operations and VP of Product Management at AbeBooks, a subsidiary of Amazon.com.

By combining business acumen with technology, Laura-Lea self-identifies as an example of “the new breed of CIO”, promoting information technology as the trusted partner and advisor to the organization.

Laura-Lea holds a Commerce Degree from the University of Victoria and a Masters Certificate in Project Management from York University. Laura-Lea has spent the last 20 years leading technology teams and projects.
