Lara Greden

Dr. Lara Greden is Research Director for IDC’s Platform as a Service (PaaS) practice. Dr. Greden’s research focuses on platforms for application development on private, public and hybrid clouds and on edge deployments. She directs research into the competitive markets of cloud platforms and application development and deployment services that are enabling digital transformation, including integration, containers, serverless computing, big data, AI, ML, predictive analytics, IoT and other emerging technologies.

Dr. Greden advises customers and vendors on the trends that are shaping the modern application deployment environment. She closely follows the emerging platform services from companies including Amazon, Google, IBM, Microsoft, Red Hat, Salesforce and others. Dr. Greden focuses on tying platform research on emerging technologies to customer needs, including mapping products to software markets to identify growth, conducting business value and ROI studies, and providing quantified insight on market trends impacting roadmaps and strategic planning in agile organizations.
