Kumud Kalia

Kumud Kalia is Chief Information Officer at precision oncology leader Guardant Health. His responsibilities include digital transformations for employee productivity, customer experience and company growth. He also leads enterprise software, infrastructure, information security, data engineering and AI.

Through multiple CIO, CTO and COO roles, his operating experience spans IT, software, cybersecurity, business strategy and business transformation. He has led award-winning teams around the world, gaining a reputation for innovation, operational excellence and business agility.

Prior to Guardant Health, Kumud was CTO at Cybersecurity leader Cylance, with responsibility for Product Development, Customer Success and Enterprise IT. His prior experience includes CIO roles at Internet leader Akamai, Direct Energy, and various executive roles within telecom and financial services companies, including Morgan Stanley and UBS.

Educated at Bangor University (Bachelors, Electronic Engineering) and UC Berkeley (Masters, Cybersecurity), Kumud is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of both the Institution of Engineering & Technology and the British Computer Society. Based in Silicon Valley, California, he was awarded ‘Bay Area CIO of the Year’ by his peers in 2021.
