Joseph Gimigliano

CTO Northwell Health

Joseph Gimigliano is a transformative technology executive with over 25 years of global experience leading various roles within IT, across healthcare, finance, and retail. Since early 2024, he serves as the SVP, Chief Technology Officer for Northwell Health Systems, one of the largest healthcare organizations in the country, where he leads with visionary thinking and grounded execution. He is a champion of digital transformation, and passionate about using technology to elevate the patient and employee experience, drive enterprise resilience, and unlock the future of care delivery.

Prior to Northwell, Joseph was the CTO at Mount Sinai Health System where led the migration of its mission-critical Epic system to Microsoft Azure—making it the largest health system in the world to fully run in the public cloud. Leveraging that investment, he helped pioneer AI integration into clinical workflows advanced analytics – all while fostering a collaborative, diverse, and high-performing team culture.

Prior to Mount Sinai, Joe held senior executive roles at Hudson’s Bay Corporation and Moody’s, where he spearheaded cloud transformations, AI-driven customer insights, and enterprise-wide DevOps implementations, delivering significant operational and financial outcomes.

A frequent advisor to boards and executive teams, Joe is known for combining technical depth with business acumen, and for using technology as a force multiplier for innovation, efficiency, and human-centered outcomes. Joe is a graduate of executive programs at MIT Sloan and the University of Virginia Darden School, and holds a B.A. in Accounting & Information Systems from Queens College.
