Joan Holman is a senior information technology executive with over 25 years assisting public and private companies optimize their technology investments to achieve business results. Joan’s track record demonstrates a track record of leading large-scale digital transformation initiatives in complex, multi-national organizations. With experience in professional services, life sciences, telecommuting and financial industries, Joan’s technology experience spans focuses on business outcomes. Joan is a business person, with an expertise in technology.
Currently, Joan is the Chief Information Officer of Barnes & Thornburg, a large national law firm with offices across the United States. The firm represents clients from across the globe in a myriad of industries and practice areas. Joan has lead digital transformation efforts across the firm with a focus on client service delivery.
Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Joan as the Chief Information Officer at Clark Hill, a large multi-national law firm where she lead the efforts around technology consolidation and modernization.
Joan was the Senior Director Portfolio Management and Customer Service at Sigma-Aldrich, a $2.5 Billion international life sciences and biotechnology company where she was responsible for technology operations, ecommerce website development and support. Joan was also a key liaison between the technology organization and other functions across the company to ensure technology supported the overall business goals.
Joan’s career has been focused on information technology across a broad spectrum of industries. This diverse approach has helped to hone Joan’s business acumen, focusing on business results using technology solutions
Joan is an active member in her community serving on the Make-A-Wish North Texas board. Joan also serves on the national board for the Society for Information Management as the Treasurer. Joan has been recognized by Dallas CIO, Dallas Business Journal Women in Technology, Girlstart and Constellation Business Transformation 100 for her performance as a technology professional.
Joan has a B.S. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Texas at Dallas.
