Eduard de Vries Sands

AI Executive Advisor PatientPoint

Eduard de Vries Sands is a Global CDIO who has led technology and transformation across private equity-backed and public companies in healthcare, life sciences, and manufacturing.

He currently serves as AI Executive Advisor at PatientPoint, an Advent International portfolio company, and continues to support Avantik (Water Street Healthcare Partners) in a fractional CIO capacity. Prior roles include Chief Information Officer at EVERSANA, the multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical commercialization company, and senior technology leadership at Axia Women’s Health, SSM Health, and IDEXX Laboratories.

Across two decades of operating experience, Eduard has built a reputation for translating technology investment into measurable enterprise value. His work spans value creation planning across private equity holds, enterprise transformation in public companies, and the operational discipline that connects strategy to P&L impact. He has been a key participant in board and operating partner conversations across multiple platforms and a frequent voice in C-suite discussions about technology as a growth lever rather than a cost center.

Eduard is a 2025 ORBIE Global CIO Finalist. He holds an MBA from Nyenrode Business University in the Netherlands, with study modules at the Kellogg School of Management and Stellenbosch Business University, and an MS in Applied Analytics from Saint Louis University. He speaks English and Dutch fluently, with business fluency in German and French. He is based in Nashville, Tennessee.
