Dr. Asif Gill

Professor, Computer Science University of Technology Sydney 

Dr. Asif Gill is a Professor of Computer Science and the Head of Discipline for Software Engineering at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). As the Director of the DigiSAS Research and Innovation Lab, he leads pioneering research at the intersection of adaptive enterprise architecture, agile software development, and design science. With over 25 years of experience spanning both academia and executive professional roles, Dr. Gill is an internationally recognised authority on architecting intelligent, data-intensive enterprises capable of scaling autonomous systems. His research aims to establish the architectural foundations for the “augmented enterprise,” focusing on information-driven adaptive architectures and the “logic of choice”. Dr. Gill is the author of several foundational books, including Adaptive Enterprise Architecture as Information: Architecting Intelligent Enterprises (2022), and has published over 190 articles in leading academic journals and industry outlets such as IEEE IT Professional and CIO Magazine. Beyond his academic leadership, Dr. Gill is a senior technology advisor who has delivered multi-million dollar research and innovation projects for both government and industry. He is a Fellow of the Australian Computer Society (ACS) and a member of the Standards Australia Software and Systems Engineering Committee. Dr. Gill’s work provides the practical blueprints for CIOs to move AI from experimental pilots into trustworthy, production-ready enterprise capabilities.
