Carlos M. González leads IDC’s Worldwide Industrial Internet of Things and Intelligence Strategies program. He is responsible for research on the IoT hardware and software innovations that transform operations within and across industries, with a particular focus on the digital transformation of operational IoT devices. In addition to assisting clients in maximizing the value of their technology investments and minimizing technology risk, he provides guidance on the human evolution and process changes required for digital transformation.
Before IDC, Carlos was the special projects manager at Mechanical Engineering, the magazine of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He researched and wrote content focusing on emerging trends in the manufacturing, robotics, additive manufacturing, engineering culture, and education space. Before ASME, Carlos was the content director and technology editor for Machine Design and Hydraulics & Pneumatics magazines. He managed the editorial group for both publications and wrote articles about the manufacturing, automation, packaging, and energy industry. Carlos started his career as a mechanical engineer for seven years at Sikorsky Aircraft, designing flight control equipment for the Blackhawk, S76-D, and CH-53K.
