Ben Barrett

Ben Barrett serves as the Head of Technology within the Morningstar Direct Platform group, a division dedicated to data, research, and enterprise solutions. He oversees a global software engineering organization responsible for multiple product lines and a central AI platform. With over 20 years of experience in software engineering and leadership, Ben specializes in the development of user-facing applications and platforms.

Ben joined Morningstar in 2016.  Prior to his tenure at Morningstar, he gained diverse industry experience, including software engineering roles in e-commerce at Channel IQ (acquired by Numerator) and in legal and regulatory sectors at Thomson Reuters. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics/Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
