Arun DeSouza

Arun DeSouza is currently Chief Information Security & Privacy Officer at Nexteer Automotive.   He has extensive global IT and security leadership and organizational transformation experience including as CISO and CIO. He is an expert in strategic planning, change management and risk management.

Arun is a respected industry thought leader and speaker. His areas of passion include identity management, cloud computing, the Internet of Things (IoT), Zero Trust, Software Defined Perimeter, Blockchain & Self-Sovereign Identity.

Arun earned a Master’s degree and PhD from Vanderbilt University. He is a Certified Information Systems Security professional (CISSP) and has earned the Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK) certification. Arun serves on the board of the Detroit Chapter of the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA). He is also a member of the Society for Information Management and the International Association of Privacy Professionals.

Arun was honored by the 1^st Global Cyber Observatory by induction into the CISO Hall of Fame in September 2019.  Arun recently won the OnCon Icon Award as a Top 50 Information Security Professional.  He has also won multiple other honors including CISO of the Week, CSO50 Award and the Computerworld Premier 100 IT Leaders award.
