Alex is the Head of Retirement Solutions Technology servicing 14,000+ marque institutional clients with over $400B AUM. He is leading a comprehensive transformation of the Retirement business in partnership with Accenture to realize TIAA’s next-generation Retirement Product Offers and Digital Operating Model.

His recent leadership of a cross-functional architecture, product and transformation team has yielded material time to market, performance, and delivery improvements, and overall retirement business operating cost.

His leadership outcomes have been recognized the industry with 9 patents and 11 industry awards including 5x CIO 100 awards and Gold, Silver & Bronze Stevie awards for Information Technology team of the Year.

Alex is a seasoned technology leader with more than 30 years of experience in technology delivery initiatives. Alex joined TIAA from Adaptivity (acquired by EMC) where he served as EVP of Product Management. In that role, he led solutions development for planning and designing of IT data center environments for F100 financial services clients. Prior, Alex led Architecture and Innovation at Wachovia CIB and led product and technology at Dotcoms.

Alex is passionate about helping the organization reimagine what it means to realize a digital operating model, by leading the technical vision and implementing the structure needed to drive fundamental change. He also invests into the community as a member of the Advisory Board for the North Carolina Youth Orchestra and by volunteering for multiple opportunities to mentor on the topics of career management, product management, and AI technology.

He holds a Bachelors of Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University in Massachusetts, a Master of Electrical Engineering from Purdue University in Indiana, and a Masters of Business Administration from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University in North Carolina.
